Job Overview:
This position serves as the first and last contact point with every guest entering the restaurant and is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and quality of service in the restaurant. A host at Sazzy B must be able to think on their feat to shift and move reservations in order to serve the most guests possible without sacrificing customer service quality. Hosts are also responsible for identifying and correcting seating/pacing issues before they happen as well as maintaining a general awareness of guests’ status/needs during service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing exceptional customer service
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, even under high stress situations
- Efficiently seat dining guests
- Maintain a “wait list” and work to keep any guests from leaving while “on a wait”
- Answer phones and provide accurate ant thorough answers to any phone questions
- Take and organize reservations
- Assist the bar with dishes, customer service, and other general tasks
- Assist with food delivery when necessary
Qualifications:
- Fine dining experience preferred
- Wine, craft beer, and/or cocktail knowledge preferred
- Exceptional ability to problem solve in order to provide exceptional service
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Professional demeanor in person and on the phone
- Passion for the service industry and/or culinary arts
- Must be able to lift objects of up to 50 lbs in weight
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
